Dean's Welcome and Mission

Welcome to the Office of Undergraduate Education and Academic Student Services (UEAS) at Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ! Our goal is to help students navigate their undergraduate education at Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ. We do this by administering programs for curricula, student cohorts, holistic advising, student academic growth, and student academic support. We ensure access to academic resources for students, faculty, and staff virtually and on campus. UEAS brings about students’ academic success through experiential learning, advising, and collaboration with other Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ departments.

Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ offers 81 bachelor's degrees across six schools, providing students with diverse academic opportunities. Our inquiry-based liberal arts education, anchored in the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Core, cultivates essential life and career skills through small, faculty-led classes.

Special Academic Programs

Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ offers a range of distinctive academic programs designed to enhance students' educational experiences and personal growth.

Students can participate in living-learning communities that integrate academic and residential life, including University College and the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Cornerstone Program. These communities foster connections with peers and faculty while deepening engagement with course material.

Many top-performing students may choose to enroll in the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Honors Program, which offers an intellectually rigorous curriculum and opportunities for advanced scholarly activities. Those interested in community service and social impact can engage with the DC Community Impact Scholars Program, where students collaborate with local organizations to address pressing social issues.

For those seeking personalized mentorship and structured support, the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ Catalyst Program provides intensive guidance to help students navigate their academic and professional goals.

Academic Support Services

Student-focused supports are a hallmark of an Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵ education and are available to all undergraduate, graduate, and law students.

  • Disability Support ServicesÌýin the Academic Support and Access Center provide academic accommodations and housing accommodations, accommodated testing, and the Learning Sciences Program.
  • °Õ³ó±ðÌýAcademic Support ServicesÌýarea provides services for all students, including academic coaching, peer tutoring (PASS), supplemental instruction, and the writing center. ÌýLikewise, theÌýQuantitative SupportÌýarea provides math, stats, and software support for all students.Ìý

Administrative Leadership and Authority

Undergraduate Studies serves as the administrative head for various critical academic policies and procedures, ensuring students have a clear and structured pathway to address their academic needs.
